In January 2020, members of the Staff Advisory Committee (SAC) submitted a proposal to Rice University’s Administration in response to realigning SAC activities and vision with the group’s primary purpose, “to serve as an ongoing means of communication between the University’s administration and staff.”
The proposal was approved by the Vice President for Administration for Staff Council, proposed name change from SAC, to “Engage, Connect, and Advocate” for all University staff. Plans to implement actions set forth in the proposals were to begin Fiscal Year 2021; however, the current COVID-19 pandemic delayed efforts.
Staff Council members continued to meet remotely and agreed upon a soft roll-out with emphasis on website transition. Please stay tuned for updates and announcements!
