BIOGRAPHY

Petko Ivanov is the Biosafety Officer for Rice University. He is broadly responsible for safety in research labs which utilize biological materials. His primary responsibility is to facilitate a safe working environment for researchers in laboratories and prevent the release of hazardous or biological research materials in to the community and environment. Primary activities include a voting position on the institutional IBC, teaching safety courses, consultation with labs on research activities and laboratory design, as well as emergency response as needed.
