Executive Director, Office of STEM Engagment (R-STEM)

BIOGRAPHY

Matthew Cushing serves as the Executive Director for the Office of STEM Engagment (R-STEM). In his role, he manages day-to-day operations for the department, finances and budgets, oversees all K-12 teacher and student programs, and works with faculty on broader impacts initiatives. He received a B.S. in Education from the University of Houston and a M.S. in Instructional Technology from University of Houston Clear Lake. In his free time he enjoys rooting for all Houston sports teams, cooking, and volunteering with various groups at UH. He joined staff council in 2023 and is excited to engage with staff and find ways to advocate and be a voice for all staff members at Rice
