BIOGRAPHY

Lisa Spiro serves as the Assistant University Librarian for Digital Scholarship and Organizational Development at Fondren Library, where she oversees service points such as the Digital Media Commons and GIS/Data Center, leads the Fondren Fellows program, and manages the hiring and onboarding of librarians. Lisa has many ties to Rice, including as an alum, staff member, sometimes lecturer, Duncan College associate, and more. For fun, Lisa likes to run along Houston’s bayous with friends, write comedy sketches, take photos of whatever catches her eye, and conduct novice experiments in her chaos garden. She joined Staff Council in 2026 and is a member of the professional development subcommittee.
