2024 Awards Update

Applications are closed. Thank you to the Rice community for submitting more than 85 nominations for the Rice Staff Excellence Award. What a tremendous response for the first year of this new award! Please note that we have already notified the three 2024 award recipients as well as their nominators and supervisors. For those staff members who did not receive the award this year, we encourage the nominators to submit again next year.

The 2024 recipients of the Rice Staff Excellence Award will be announced at the Staff Appreciation Event on Thursday, April 18 in the Tudor Fieldhouse and via livestream (see the Events page for further details). Please join us in recognizing and celebrating the achievements of our fellow Rice staff members. A breakfast will kick off the festivities at 8:30 am followed by the ceremony beginning promptly at 9:00 am. The event will wrap up with updates from President Reginald DesRoches and is expected to end by 10:30 am.

The Rice Staff Excellence Award, presented by the Rice Staff Council, is an annual award that celebrates the achievements of three full-time Rice staff members who exemplify the RICE core values of Responsibility, Integrity, Community, and/or Excellence and make a positive impact to the Rice community. Award recipients will be announced by early April and recognized at the President’s Staff Recognition annual event, which is scheduled for April 18, 2024. Each recipient will receive a $1,000 monetary award after taxes in recognition of their service.

Applications should be submitted using the Nomination Form provided below. Nominators will need to confirm their email address before a nomination submission is completed. Make sure to respond to the follow-up email that will be sent by Adobe Sign (adobesign@adobesign.com) requesting the email confirmation. Nominations must be submitted by 11:59 pm on Friday, February 9.
